Anderson's education system is simply awful. I already have a good idea of what I want to do for Charlotte's primary education, but for preschool I have decided that I will "home school" her. I may do the same for Kindergarten as well since in Indiana Kindergarten is not required, but optional (this really bothers me). This is a huge decision, but I feel comfortable doing this.
Kindergarten may be optional in Indiana, but Indiana has pretty rigorous standards for kindergarten students. If you choose to home school Charlotte for kindergarten, you should probably gather some home school resources and be very familiar with Kindergarten standards. I'm not against home schooling, but transitioning from home school to traditional school is challenging. Just my two cents . . . .
ReplyDeleteOh yea. I don't plan on just jumping in with no resources :) A friend of mine has been giving me some information and she just finished the Kindergarten curriculum and will be doing it 2 more times since she has 3 kids. If I find pre-school to be overwhelming I will have her go to Kindergarten. It's definitely not something I'm taking lightly.
